Gertrude, you could use the pictures to share the story with him before he can read alone. It is a great way to open up conversations with children (and adults) about how the feel when they are dysregulated and explore ways of regulating, there are examples of the parent dinosaurs helping the little dinosaur to co-regulate and also other regulation strategies. I love that the messages in the pictures are so clear. Children can relate to the experiences of the little dinosaur and understand that when he is feeling regulated, he has a rainbow tummy.
